Desktop and Laptop webcam driver download (1.3 Megapixel models)

If you've bought your webcam in September 08 or later, please note that this product has a new chipset inside which has an improved performance. It's also compatible with Mac and Linux computers.

Instructions for driver install:

1) Download the file (follow the link above, or use the file attached to this article)

2) Unzip the file to a memorable directory

3) Plug in your webcam

4) Windows should recognise the hardware and give you a message saying "New Hardware Found"

It then asks you if you want Windows to look for the drivers, or if you have them yourself. Since you already have the drivers unzipped, select "I have the drivers" and then browse to the folder you extracted the files to in step 2.

5) Windows should then copy the drivers to the correct location.

To test your webcam, you can launch it in Amcap. This is one of the files you unzipped in step 2. Alternatively, you can test the webcam in any other programme such as Skype or MSN.
